Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and been involved in our activities this year, we've had a brilliant time and can't wait for lots of exciting projects together in 2026 and beyond!
This year we celebrated our 5th birthday as a charity with a big showcase (pictured), and across our projects had

We are over the moon to have secured the rights to School of Rock, which we're going to be producing in the Summer of 2027! 🎸 🥁
We will be sharing more information very soon, but couldn't wait to spread the news 🎉
We're excited to be bringing children and adults together on stage for the first time in a full musical in Limelight Performers' history, and will open applications for creative team members, as well as announcing plans for open auditions for both children and adults in the future too!

See Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favourite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage! 🐘
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird 🐣🐒
Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant! ✨

✨ I have always loved performing since I was a child and have been involved in amateur theatre for many years.

We recently launched our brand-new weekly theatre school for 9-18 year-olds!
🎤 Join us for fun and creative workshops as we work towards full-scale musical productions. Whether you’re a budding star or just love the stage, our sessions focus on building skills and boosting confidence through dynamic rehearsal experiences.
🗓 Sessions run every Tuesday from 6:30–8:30pm at Suffolk New College in Ipswich.

✨ A focus on technique & skill-building
🎭 Opportunities to perform in productions, including our first show in November 2025!

The new local theatre group in Suffolk.
Welcome to Limelight Performers! We are an amateur musical theatre group and registered charity based in Ipswich, Suffolk. We produce high quality productions throughout the year, across a mix of different age groups (9+), performing in various wonderful local venues, and are always aiming to make theatre accessible to as many people as possible. To do this, we keep our ticket prices and membership fees as low as we can - and hold open auditions for all productions which anyone can attend. We create a variety of opportunities year round, and hope you'll join us to see what we do or have your chance to be 'in the limelight' too!

There's lots of ways you can support us (see here for details), but did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Limelight Performers with easyfundraising?
