Limelight Performers are approaching our 6th Anniversary as a charity and 7th year as a group, and in this time we’ve already worked with over 300 participants from the local area, and continuing to grow month to month.
We’re very excited to share that we feel that we’re now approaching the time for us to look to open our own premises! We'd like this to have rehearsal spaces, props & costume rooms, set workshops, office space, and lots more - and so this is a really exciting prospect for us!
It’s very early days, but even at this point there’s going to be a lot of fees involved in early feasibility studies and investigating options of buildings. This means we’re launching a local fundraiser and would be delighted if you’d like to support.
As part of this, we’ve opened an online raffle, where for just £1 per ticket, you can be entered into a draw to have a chance to win 2 tickets to every production we put on in 2027 (we’re expecting 8 shows!). There’ll only be one winner, but the prize will be worth over £200 so it’s well worth an entry!

🎭 OUR SUMMER 2027 SHOW IN A WEEK IS… THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Young@Part)! 🖤
As we start to organise costumes and get everything back into storage from our recent production of Sister Act Jr, we’re thrilled to announce that our next summer Show in a Week will be the wonderfully weird, delightfully spooky The Addams Family Young@Part! 🕷️
We’ll be heading back to the Seckford Theatre for two performances on Saturday 14 August 2027 — after just five days of rehearsals!
There’ll be opportunities for young people aged 9–18 across cast, crew and young creatives, so whether you love performing, creating, backstage magic or all things theatre, there’ll be a place for you. 🖤
Spaces will be available to Friends members from Sunday 28th Feb, with any remaining spaces released a week later.
It’s going to be a wonderful week of music, mayhem and Addams-style madness — and we can’t wait! 🦇

As we start to organise costumes and get everything back into storage from our recent production of Sister Act Jr, we’re thrilled to announce that our next summer Show in a Week will be the wonderfully weird, delightfully spooky The Addams Family Young@Part! 🕷️
We’ll be heading back to the Seckford Theatre for two performances on Saturday 14 August 2027 — after just five days of rehearsals!
There’ll be opportunities for young people aged 9–18 across cast, crew and young creatives, so whether you love performing, creating, backstage magic or all things theatre, there’ll be a place for you. 🖤
Spaces will be available to Friends members from Sunday 28th Feb, with any remaining spaces released a week later.
It’s going to be a wonderful week of music, mayhem and Addams-style madness — and we can’t wait! 🦇

We're now half way through this Summer's Show in a Week project, which means it's time to move from our rehearsal spaces at @sncperformingarts. Tomorrow rehearsals carry on at @seckfordtheatre to start technical & dress runs ahead of our two performances on Saturday!
This wonderful group of young people have been working incredibly hard over the last few days, and have already done their first full run through of the show - which is incredible having only started rehearsals on Monday! In that time the cast have learnt all of the songs, dances and scenes, had costume fittings, and lots more - the crew have finished making props & set pieces, completed the get in at the theatre and started to practise their backstage roles for the show - and they still all had time to pose for some pictures!

Limelight Performers are approaching our 6 Anniversary as a charity and 7 year as a group, and in this time we’ve already worked with over 300 participants from the local area, and continuing to grow month to month.
We’re very excited to share that we feel that we’re now approaching the time for us to look to open our own premises! We'd like this to have rehearsal spaces, props & costume rooms, set workshops, office space, and lots more - and so this is a really exciting prospect for us!
It’s very early days, but even at this point there’s going to be a lot of fees involved in early feasibility studies and investigating options of buildings. This means we’re launching a local fundraiser and would be delighted if you’d like to support.
As part of this, we're launching a 'sponsor a brick' campaign. It may be some time before we can open the building, but when we do, we’ll be permanently marking up bricks to thank everyone who donates £10 or more on our specific fundraiser at the link below. Please share with individuals, local companies and anyone who you think would like to show their support!

The local theatre group in Suffolk putting community first
Welcome to Limelight Performers! We are an amateur musical theatre group and registered charity based in Ipswich, Suffolk. We produce high quality productions throughout the year, across a mix of different age groups (9+), performing in various wonderful local venues, and are always aiming to make theatre accessible to as many people as possible. To do this, we keep our ticket prices and membership fees as low as we can - and hold open auditions for all productions which anyone can attend. We create a variety of opportunities year round, and hope you'll join us to see what we do or have your chance to be 'in the limelight' too!
